The nurture and admonition of God was introduced in the formative years of life for Aaron Letcher. Church has always been a central focus in his life being the son of a church pianist and grandson of a Baptist Church Pastor.
Aaron was called to preach at 12 years old and preached his initial sermon on October 31, 1993. In December of 1994 Aaron became a licensed minister under the headship of his Pastor and Grandfather Reverend Posie Heaston. At the tender age of 16 Aaron was appointed interim Pastor of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Jamestown, TN where he presided for three years as he learned and taught in regards to the mission of the Church. Aaron was ordained at 19 years of age.
Upon graduation from East High School Memphis, TN Aaron furthered his education at LeMoyne-Owen College. Pastor Letcher felt “drawn to the grass roots of a HBCU, which was and is so rich in history and seeping with the laborious sweat of our ancestors.” It was at LeMoyne-Owen College where he developed a deep appreciation for the rich Heritage of the South Memphis communities as he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and Religion. During his stay at LeMoyne-Owen College, Aaron joined Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. in 2002 and was able to serve as Chaplain of the Beta Xi Chapter. He won numerous oratorical contests between 2005-2006; which lead him to the national level in Washington, D.C. where he spoke for the Centennial anniversary of the fraternity. (Where there were no titled winners)
Pastor Letcher has been an active participant in The LeMoyne-Owen College Community Development Corporation (LOCCDC), as a mentor to at-risk urban youth and participant in the violence prevention program. He also served seven years in the Memphis City School System at A.B. Hill Elementary school as well with the W.E.B. Dubois Charter Schools. Pastor Letcher is an adamant believer in being prepared for the work of the Kingdom therefore he acquired his Master of Divinity degree at Memphis Theological Seminary in May of 2012 and his Doctor of Ministry degree at United Theological Seminary in May 2016.
Pastor Letcher has preached and ministered at many churches across the country and the mid-south area whereas, he served as Pastor at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Eads, TN and Magnolia First Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. One of Rev. Letcher’s most profound accomplishments is marrying Patrina Letcher who he affectionately calls “The Apple of His Eye” and they share two “bouncing baby boys” Zion K. Letcher and Princeton E. Letcher as well as a beautiful, adored baby girl, Avery Charnell Letcher. Together they strive to spread the message of our Savior throughout the community and the world!
